Location: Durbanville Hills, Cape Town
Responsibilities:
Including, but not limited to:
- Complete training as required.
- Shadow applicable Engineers, in order to gain a fundamental understanding of the tooling and equipment used.
- Work alongside the current engineering team assisting with design & manufacture requests for specialized tooling and equipment.
- Generate fit-form-function based Designs comprising of 3D CAD models
- Generate manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks of specialized tooling and equipment, this being the primary function of the role.
- Generate manufacturing data packs (incl. BOM’s, QCP’s and Works Instructions).
- Oversee the Manufacture of specialty tooling from inception through to delivery, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. This will include, but will not be limited to: quotation, project execution, procurement, logistics, resource planning, scheduling, reporting, databook generation, oversight, supplier/vendor management, quality control and project closeout.
- Compile manuals, reports and procedures as required.
- Assist Engineers with Admin tasks.
- Assist Engineers with R&D testing on Equipment.
- Report effectively to Management and Engineers as applicable.

Skills:
The following are the minimum skills required to perform the function:
- Sound understanding of 3D CAD packages, in particular SolidWorks.
- A good knowledge of the MS Office suite (especially Word, Excel, Teams).
- Good written communicator (email, report & manual writing).
- Excellent level of English, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks PDM would be advantageous.
- Sound understanding of fabrication, boiler making/welding, precision machining.
- Good organizational, planning & time management skills.
- Practical thinker, mechanically minded and good problem solver.
Qualifications & Experience:
The following are the minimum skills required to perform the function:
- Relevant Draughting Qualification
- Three to six years’ experience in a relatable engineering environment (e.g. design and manufacturing)
